Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 info leaked..
You have to be doubly suspicious of any supposed leaks to do with Call Of Duty, but although the source on this was just a post on Activision's forums it does seem to be fairly convincing.

Website MP1st managed to copy the information before it was deleted, most of which is concerned with the multiplayer. Although it's long been assumed that this year's game is a sequel to Black Ops by developer Treyarch there's been no confirmation of anything from Activision. Instead there's just been the promise that the new game will feature 'meaningful innovation'.

Details on Modern Warfare 3 were leaked months ahead of time last year, although that included artwork and even sound files. It was so obviously real that Activision moved forward their marketing plans to compensate, but we doubt they'll be doing the same here.

If it is fake most of the following seems to have been invented according to a number of educated guesses. Even the supposed release date of November 6 is easy to predict, since Call Of Duty games always come out around that time - last year's Modern Warfare 3 was released on November 8.

Anyway, here goes and it'll be interesting to see if any of this turns out to be true:

- Game Modes
- Escort
- Will be a new game mode
- Similar to Search and Destroy however a live player must be escorted to one of three areas (or two depending on the map) without being killed.
- The match will have rounds, consisting of one life only.
- Drop Zone and Kill Confirmed will return
- Team Defender and Infected will not return

- Pointstreaks
- Will follow from Modern Warfare 3’s system
- Larger emphasis on objectives
- A bomb plant is worth 2 points
- A neutral flag is worth 1, however an enemy flag is worth 2
- A flag assist capture is worth 1, a capture is worth 2
- The Specialist Pointstreak has be modified
- 2 kills now gets you 1 perk
- The 4th kill gets you 2 more perks
- The 6th kill gets you 3 more perks
- The 8th Kill gets you 4 more perks
- You do not get every perk when you reach 8 kills
- Perks only become “Pro” when you have them Pro
- RC XD will not return
- Heat vision
- Is a new Pointstreak reward
- When you get the required points, you can activate this Pointstreak and your player pulls out a scope and attaches it to your weapon.
- This scopes main advantage is it’s ability to detect enemies through most walls.
- Note, the scope can only be attached to primaries not including shotguns
- Item Packages
- Requires 5 points
- Fall alongside care packages and air drop traps.
- Features a list of package items only
- Including ammo, mini gun, grenade launcher, rocket launcher, and body armour

- Prestiges
- There will be 15 prestiges
- There will be 50 ranks
- Every two prestiges there is a 5 rank increase
- The final prestige has 90 levels

- ELITE 2.0
- ELITE is being fully incorporated into Black Ops 2
- Combat record has been modified and re-named as ELITE Stats
- There will be a specific lobby for clan matches (new way of levelling clans)
- Clan Tournaments can now be implemented

- Removed
- No MOAB or Nuke
- No last stand
- No deathstreaks
- No flamethrower attachment

- Map Design
- Map design and size will be following Black Ops not Modern Warfare 3

- Sniper Rifles
- Improved sniper rifle usage.
- No aim assist for any sniper rifle.
- Less sway

- Customisation
- No longer just perk 1 chooses the players appearance
- Appearance is a combination of all perks and type of Pointstreak being used.

- Hardcore
- Larger emphasis on hardcore than ever before
- No grenade launchers
- Only vehicle guided rocket launchers permitted
- Respawn timings decreased (for most modes)
- 1 bullet in the foot will no longer kill a person, a head or chest shot is usually required.
- A person will now bleed out if severely injured.

- Perk System 2.0
- The Perk Pro system has been upgraded
- There is now 2 options a perk can advance to.
- Both require different challenges to unlock
- Once the desired Pro version is unlocked, the player can select that as their “Perk Pro”.
- Once selected, the only way to choose the other option is by entering prestige mode.
- For example Perk slot 1 has the perk called Speed
- Speed – Reduces the time taken to aim down the sight
- Pro I – Swaps weapons faster
- Pro II – Throws equipment faster

- Combat Training
- Will be returning with vast improvements.
- Difficulty is no longer based on how long the bots take to start shooting.
- Bots now have an advance AI system
- Similar to the behaviour seen in the MW3 Spec Ops surviva

Terrorists use games like Call of Duty to plot terrorist attacks?

Terrorists use online war games like "Call of Duty" to plot and discuss future attacks in private, an investigation by The Sun found.Islamic extremists know cops monitor phone calls and emails, and turn to popular PlayStation and Xbox games to ensure their plans remain secret.Online games allow players to log on in groups to play against each other and chat in private.Once signed in to a "lobby" using a password, plotters then use Bluetooth headsets to speak securely to other users on the same site.A source said, "It's a terrifying reality. These people waste no time finding a secure method of chatting. They are logging into group games over the Internet and discussing terror plots. Security people know about it."Extremists choose realistic "first person" conflict games, including "Medal of Honor" and "Halo," because they can disguise their discussions as harmless web chat.In the games, players work through a complex simulation of war scenarios, carrying out missions and battling enemy fighters.News of the growing threat comes five years after the CIA first warned of the menace.Different styles of play and missions -- from planting bombs to fighting one-on-one -- are available and players can even join "clans" -- groups which regularly play together. There has also been evidence they are being used as training tools for insurgents.

'Call of Duty: Black Ops 2' leaked by Amazon France

'Call of Duty: Black Ops 2' leaked by Amazon France

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was leaked today when it appeared on Amazon's French site.

Amazon quickly removed the game from its store, but not before French site Gameblog reported the listing.

Adding credence to the story, Activision contacted Gameblog requesting the news to be removed. When the site declined, Activision reportedly uninvited the site from an upcoming Transformers: Fall of Cybertron preview event and pulled future advertising from the site.

Activision recently stated that the next Call of Duty game will bring "meaningful innovations" to the series.

Currently in development by Treyarch, the team behind Call of Duty: Black Ops, the new game will be released this November.

Call of Duty: Black Ops was recently voted by fans as the best video game ending of all time for the Guinness World Records 2012: Gamer's Edition.

Treyarch contract art studio employee lists 'Black Ops 2' among current projects

Treyarch contract art studio employee lists 'Black Ops 2' among current projects

Hugo Beyer has worked on some major titles over the years (Beatles Rock Band, Anno 1404), including some still unreleased ones (Doom 4, Aliens: Colonial Marines), at a variety of studios (Terminal Reality, Liquid Development). What stands out to us, however, is his current work with Nerve Software on what he refers to as "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2," as seen on his public LinkedIn page.

"But who is Nerve Software?" you're probably wondering. Nerve has done a bunch of contract work for Activision in the past, including Treyarch-developed James Bond title Quantum of Solace, as well as ... Call of Duty: Black Ops (the first one).

So, there's one more lead in the "Activision and Treyarch are probably gonna release Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 this year" news cycle. Between domain registrations and reported retailer listings in Europe, we're thinking an announcement can't be too far off. Activision and Nerve Software had yet to respond to request for comment as of publishing.

Update: Mr. Beyer (or someone on his behalf) has taken down his LinkedIn page, it would seem. We've still yet to receive responses to comment requests from him, or Nerve Software, or Activision.

Black Ops prank leads to SWAT being called...

Black Ops prank leads to SWAT being called...

When the S.W.A.T. arrived at a North Texas home in Lewisville, there were told a shooter was in the house. There was, but it wasn't the shooter the police expected. It was a kid playing Call of Duty: Black Ops.

On Monday a little after 5pm, a teenage boy was playing Call of Duty: Black Ops on Xbox Live. He and his friends were hanging out and talking in an online lobby between matches. According to the teen, whose parents asked that he not be named: "Some dude just popped out of nowhere, and basically said he's going to hack me, he's going to get my information, call the swat team over to my front yard."

The teenager ignored the threat and kept playing with his friends on Xbox Live.

According to CBSDFW news in Dallas, a message was sent to the city via the AT&T Instant Message Relay Service, which is designed for hearing impaired individuals to contact someone via telephone. The message stated that someone had been shot, and there was a shooter inside the house.

Officers arrived at the boy's Lewisville home, but did not see any signs of a shooting. The boy's parents noticed a S.W.A.T. encircling the house. One officer began calling the boy's name with a bullhorn.

"We were all scared, out of our minds," he told CBSDFW. "Didn't understand why they were here. We thought there was some stranger some dude running around our house, hiding behind the boat. We didn't know. We didn't expect nothing."

Frightened, the family called 9-1-1, and the operator connected them to the police, who told them to come out of their house.

The teen said he didn't know who pulled the prank. Police are looking into the matter, and trying to get a subpoena to get the necessary info to snag the gamer who sounded this false alarm.
